Pepper Intercropping Technology

There are many ways in which peppers are interspersed with other vegetable crops. To sum up, there are generally the following nested modes.

(1) Interplanting with early leafy vegetables: Interplanting peppers in leeks, leeks, or fungus can prevent the chillies from being harmed by underground pests such as ground tigers and earthworms, increase the multiple cropping index, and increase planting efficiency. Early-maturing leaf vegetables generally use small arch cover to advance to mid-late to late-March to mid-to-late-March. After the end of April, seedlings can be picked one after another. When the peppers are sealed, early-maturing leaf vegetables are basically harvested.

(2) Interplanting with melons and legumes: The use of watermelons and melons does not have a long growing period. In the case of late-season chili peppers, unsealed vacant land with a variety of early-season watermelons and melons can improve land use efficiency. In addition, there are intercropping methods such as pepper and bitter gourd, wax gourd, and soya beans, which can be flexibly selected according to the specific local conditions and their own technical characteristics.

(3) Interplanting with steamed buns: The steamed buns grow slowly in the early stage and there is a large amount of open space between the rows. It is also possible to interplant the early chilli peppers.
